REHABILITATION OF FAÇADES IN A RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY OF LAREDO
The façades of the buildings of the Residential Community of Laredo have been rehabilitated. The reason why the buildings needed a rehabilitation was the deterioration of the forged fronts built using sardinel bricks, which were loose due to entrance of water coming from the terraces. The water seeped in the joint of the terrace with the sill. Since the area was not waterproofed, the edge of the flooring becomes soaked with water, oxidising frames and causing the bricks to fall.
To rehabilitate the fronts, ULMA Architectural Solutions supplied special custom-made for the front in straight L format, as well as edges, corners, and curves. In total, 1800 ML were supplied for the three buildings, in white. In addition 1800 ML of MA model masonry were supplied.
Carbonation on the façades of coastal buildings, such as Laredo, is an increasingly frequent problem. For that reason, the ULMA polymer concrete was prescribed in the project, as the ULMA polymer concretepieces are waterproof, lightweight, flexible, adjustable on site, easy to place, without oxidisable compoents, and resistant to moisture and s.
