Reflection on empathy and active listening in the group activity held among the partners of ULMA Architectural Solutions.
To start the day, the partners were able to attend the talk of Antonio Cancelo, founder of the Eroski Cooperative and former president of the Mondragón Group. Cancelo shared his story with the attendees, talking about the beginnings of Eroski and the cooperative values, as well as his experiences as a promoter and senior manager of the company.
Afterwards, attendees were able to address values such as empathy and active listening through a group activity in which they were divided into small groups and, with the help of several organisers, were able to empathise and reflect on two fictional characters that represent different professional profiles of ULMA.
The goal was to allow the to put themselves in the shoes of others and attempt to listen to their message, while understanding that empathy is a value that facilitates our understanding and teamwork. Finally, each participant wrote their own commitments to strengthen empathy and active listening in their daily life.
The morning was concluded with a family photograph of all the participants.
