Successful first ULMA-Challenge
The first Women's Cycling ULMA-Challenge promoted by ULMA and organized by the Aloña Mendi Sports Club of Oñati and the Lokatza Cycling School of Bergara was held on Saturday.
More than 90 cyclists took the start in the two races that made up the ULMA-Challenge. A time trial in Bergara in the morning and a line race in the afternoon in Oñati. Irati Aranguren (Andoaingo Txirrindulari Eskola) in the cadet category and Laia Bosch (Ecológicos Navarros) in the junior category were the fastest in the general classification. In the afternoon test held in Oñati, the prize for the first Oñatiarra went to Izar Ezkibel.
Both organizers and participants ended up satisfied with a challenge that united two disciplines in a single race, giving the race a greater spectacle and entity, which they hope will serve to promote and strengthen women's grassroots cycling.
