ULMA takes part in the Medea General Assembly with other companies in the material handling sector
Founded over ten years ago, the association is made up of most of the forklift truck distributors in Spain who work with over twenty national and international brands. The main aim of the association MEDEA is to join forces and have one single body representing the sector to public and private organizations, jointly channelling the professional interests, requests and claims of the associated companies.
Those attending the assembly were given a first-hand account of the market situation, drawn up based on the commitment accepted by each one of the associated companies to send a detailed data report every month listing the units of forklifts sold and ordered in the Spanish market, information which Medea contrasts against frequent audits. According to that taken from this statistical analysis, if we ignore the effect of the Mercadona operation taking place in December, in the year 2012 the market for the sale and hire of forklifts in Spain underwent a fall of 12% for counterbalanced forklifts and a fall of 6% for indoor forklifts.
The companies attending agreed that in the light of the present situation they have gone from being sellers or hirers of forklifts to offering a much fuller service, a mindset which has already been assumed internally by ULMA and relayed to its customers for some time by offering integral customized logistics solutions and involving the whole collective in building solid lasting relationships with customers.
