ULMA Handling Systems showcases its products at the first Public ICT Demo Centre
ULMA Handling Systems won an open tender to participate in this project and has installed a package sorting system, a smart warehousing scheme, a traffic simulation software solution, an automatic identification system, smart shelving solutions and industrial mobile terminals.
The centre is the only one of its kind in Spain and will enable firms to give practical demos of their technological products and services to companies interested in acquiring technology to enhance their productivity and competitive edge. It wishes to become a benchmark setting for both the sectors (ICT and logistics) and a meeting point for innovation and business needs. With this aim in mind, a customised space with unique facilities was designed and built after a needs assessment had been conducted by the logistics companies to ensure that the Centre can provide practical demonstrations of how technology can be used to solve real problems.
The Zaragoza logistics demonstration centre occupies 453 square metres and is divided into four separate areas, each given over to a key aspect: ICT for supply chain improvement, smart warehousing, intelligent transport and smart point of sale systems.
