ULMA Handling Systems is working on a project for FRISCOS to automate 90% of its production
After completing automation, the renowned Galician tinned food company has obtained “significant improvements, mainly in productivity, efficiency and effectiveness, automating up to 90% of the palletisation process, with the remaining production being done by hand for individual clients” said Luis Rivera, Director of the Conservas Friscos Plant.
In addition to the palletisation system, this logistics solution incorporates the baling and labelling process and an automatic transport system (VTD) designed to transport the pallets, whether full or empty, to the output line.
“After visiting a number of similar facilities, we made a clear choice: ULMA is very reliable and its solutions suit our current and future needs perfectly. Customers have higher and higher requirements and want specific packaging to meet market demand”, said Mr. Rivera.
Conservas Friscos, S.A. is in the midst of a generational transition, with a demanding strategic plan for expansion and growth and a new management team. The company currently supplies domestic and international customers and last year had a €51 M turnover. It provides an average of 180 direct jobs.
