60 years that brings us together
2021 will be a special year for all of us. It has been 6 decades since our inception and if there is something to highlight, it is the commitment and enthusiasm to form a common and supportive project through the efforts of all our people. Despite the difficulties we are experiencing as a society, due to the global health crisis, 2021 will be a special year, a year in which we will remember where we came from, so that we can understand where we are going.

It was at the end of the 1950s when several young entrepreneurs from Oñati decided to plant the seed of what has grown into today’s ULMA Group social-business project. In a society suffering significant social deprivation, these young men began their business careers under the name of Talleres Ignacio Maiztegi, with the intention of dedicating themselves to maintenance and auxiliary work for what was then the prosperous chocolate industry of Oñati. In 1961, it was decided to convert the company into a cooperative under the name Talleres ULMA SCI. On 8 September of that same year, the articles of association were signed and it was also in 1961 that the Otadui 3 warehouse was inaugurated.
