Uruguayan pharmaceutical distributors D4 plan to install an automatic storage and order picking system designed by ULMA Handling Systems. The logistics solution will form part of a newly-created Distribution Centre set up by Uruguay’s three largest pharmaceutical laboratories.

The new logistics system will include a containerisation process, automatic stocking done by 3 fine stockers and an order picking system consisting of 50 Pick to Light Systems DPDs. The system addresses this client’s need to optimise its order picking process through automation.
ULMA’s engineering is undoubtedly the key factor that has led D4 to opt for our logistics solution.
The assembly process will begin in autumn 2014, and delivery of the installation is expected for the end of the year.
