ULMA Handling Systems chosen among 8 finalists for the "Rois de la Supply Chain 2020" awards
This competition awards prizes to projects in the supply chain area. ULMA Handling Systems has been chosen for its centralised automated warehouse system designed for order picking at Bridor, the French manufacturer of high-end frozen pastry, cakes and baked goods.
Bridor's facilities have an automatic warehouse at a temperature of -20ºC equipped with 8 stacker cranes with a capacity for more than 19,000 pallets. On the other hand, the production area and the automated warehouse are communicated via two different networks of STVs, (Sorting Transfer Vehicles), which operate at a controlled temperature of 3 to 5°C, in one, and -20°C in the other. The facilities also include a dispatch buffer at -20°C that feeds 6 platforms. Thanks to the automation installed by ULMA, Bridor has managed to streamline its available space and flows, in continuous growth. Bridor's productivity has increased, and product control and traceability have been strengthened.
ULMA will present its project to the public at the event. With its vote, the Supply Chain community will proceed to choose the three KINGS, in the categories of "Grand Prix", "Coup de Cœur" and "Innovation", which will receive their prize at an evening gala. Parallel to the competition, a Fair has been organised in which ULMA will present its new developments and products at its stand.
