More than 100 teenagers took part in the two reflective cinema sessions organised by ULMA Group

ULMA Group organises these sessions through its Foundation as part of the company’s Social Promotion project. The two reflective cinema sessions, part of our 2012 initiatives, were held in the ULMA Group Auditorium on 17 October and 6 November. 

The initiative was organised in partnership with Baketik and aimed at 3^rd and 4^th year high school students. The initiative had two objectives: to promote reflection and a critical spirit as a habit, using the cinema as a resource for this purpose, and to encourage young people to reflect on the topics covered in the films, to spark off constructive debate, dialogue and discussion.

The first session was held on 17 October and was for 4^th year pupils from the Elkar Hezi. In this first session, the high school students watched the film "El Truco del Manco" and worked on issues regarding people's limits, frustrations and efforts. The session was divided into three separate blocks. In the first they discussed people's limitations and how to overcome them. Then, they watched the film and, finally, in groups of 5 they analysed the behaviour of the film's characters and how each of them reacted to their limitations and issues. The 28 pupils who took part in this first session were positive about it, giving it an average mark of 7.7 out of 10.

The second session was held on 6 November and involved a total of 80 young 3^rd and 4^th year pupils from the Txantxiku Ikastola school. They watched the film “Felices 16”, whose themes for reflection were freedom, decisions and consequences. Because of the large number of participants in this session, it wasn’t possible to work in small groups. Instead, discussions were held at the beginning and end of the film. The Txantxiku Ikastola pupils were also positive about the session, giving it an average mark of 7 out of 10.
