Korrika 18 in ULMA
Korrika is with us once again. This year, the 18th edition will begin in Andoain on 14 March and end in Baiona on the 24th, travelling non-stop throughout the Basque Country for 11 days.
This year is honouring the thousands of people learning or becoming literate in the Basque language; all those making an effort to learn or practice Basque to become euskalakaris. And we have many such people in ULMA, with 90 colleagues who have been learning or improving their Basque at work over recent years.
In the early morning of Thursday 21 March, Korrika will come from Legazpi to Oñati and then on to Arrasate. Moreover, our colleagues from Goiain (ULMA Construcción) have taken up the challenge and will run in the Legutio area.
So this year ULMA has decided to buy three kilometres, one as an institution and another two from the contributions from employees (5 euros per employee) who visit the Human Resources department or put their names down on the sheets pinned to the notice boards (in some businesses).
So this year there will again be lots of euskalakaris in ULMA!
