ULMA Handling Systems reorganises the logistics system at the San Francisco C.I.S.A distribution centre in Uruguay
With this new system, the San Francisco centre will be able to obtain and share all the operating data both at the point of sale and during logistics operations and generate exclusive reports for management follow-up and specific decision-making.
The warehouse management will be carried out by radio frequency and pick-to-light system devices, which intuitively guide workers towards more efficient order picking. The new centre will also have a lean lift type vertical stocking system for high value products with restricted access.
The ULMA-designed logistics system will enable comprehensive control of material received and stock entries, automatic material restocking, customer and supplier returns management and weight control for pallets, roll containers and lorries together with the order picking and dispatch system.
The new distribution centre will be located in a strategic area just 10 minutes’ drive from Montevideo Port. It is a benchmark centre as regards construction quality and service facilities, meeting the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
The project will be up and running by October 2013.
