Employability plan. A rewarding effort
We wanted to recognise, through a round table, the effort made by many of our members over the last few months in the Employability Plan that ULMA has implemented in the last two years.
Women on the ULMA governing councils (II)
In April’s Begira we produced a first report on the presence of women in ULMA’s corporate bodies. Now, at the end of the year, we wish to continue that investigation.
ULMA and the pandemic
These have been hard, difficult months in which the pandemic has challenged our cooperative values. Today, one and a half years later, we can state that we are emerging stronger as a group, an example of solidarity and good practice. We would like to thank everybody at ULMA for your collaboration in dealing with this situation, because that is what has made it possible for us to keep our operations running in a safe working environment.
New image and corporate visual identity for ULMA
Throughout 2020 and the first months of 2021, the Group's Communication Committee worked on and coordinated the project to review the corporate image and visual identity, which has recently been approved by the corporate bodies of the ULMA Group.
60 years that brings us together
2021 will be a special year for all of us. It has been 6 decades since our inception and if there is something to highlight, it is the commitment and enthusiasm to form a common and supportive project through the efforts of all our people. Despite the difficulties we are experiencing as a society, due to the global health crisis, 2021 will be a special year, a year in which we will remember where we came from, so that we can understand where we are going.
Women on the Mujeres de ULMA ULMAen la década de los 60 governing councils
The activity of the ULMA Group companies has always been technical and industrial. Women, in general, have been less present, as they also have on the management and representation bodies. However, since the 1980s, many women have been members of the Governing Councils of our Cooperatives, and some have been president.

ULMA women in the 1960s
These natives of Oñati were three of the first women to work at ULMA in the 1960s. They were members and went to work every day at the offices located at Paseo Otadui. They stopped working at ULMA after they got married. In this interview they tell us what women were like in those days.
New payment system for assisted ULMA Group canteens
We have recently changed our payment system at the assisted canteens of Oñati and Legazpi and beginning on 1 October, payment can be made using a mobile phone as well as a credit card.

Emotional tribute to our Retirees
On June 7, we celebrated a tribute to our retirees. The day was filled with an atmosphere of camaraderie among all. They had the opportunity to reconnect with workmates that they had not seen for a long time, wich stirred lot of emotions.

Gender equality, a challenge for Cooperatives
The oñatiarras Cristina Madina and Maixabel Madinagoitia have worked for about 40 years at ULMA. In the 1970s, married women were forced to leave their jobs in cooperatives. At ULMA, these two women were the first to fight to get back to work after marriage.
