Ulma Construction
ULMA takes part in the construction of the Valryggen Bridge in Norway
The construction of the Valryggen Bridge forms part of the E6 Svenningelv-Lien highway upgrade and expansion project, one of Norway’s main north–south transport corridors. The bridge is 387 metres long, distributed across seven spans, and crosses the Vefsna River south of Trofors.
ULMA proposed a 20 m-long MK parapet form carriage as the most suitable solution for for casting the side parapets of the bridge. Its modular configuration allowed precise execution of the parapet walls while reducing assembly, adjustment, and stripping times. The high-load-bearing-capacity rail and wheel movement system enabled the unit to move along the deck without complex auxiliary operations, maintaining a steady and safe working pace.
The involvement of ULMA in this project highlights the importance of having reliable formwork systems and technical solutions capable of meeting the challenges posed by large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, precision and efficiency at every stage of construction.
