ULMA collaborates with TECNUN School of Engineering of the University of Navarra

When different meeting spaces between the academic and professional worlds are promoted and maintained over time, a natural and multidisciplinary working environment arises in which people interact and share their knowledge, experience and passion for proposing solutions through research, innovation and the development of services and products that contribute to improving society.

For the past 5 years, ULMA's technical and application area has maintained an unmissable date with the students of the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering at TECNUN School of Engineering of the University of Navarra, proposing a new challenge each year based on different assumptions and practical cases related, for example, to the improvement in the design of ULMA’s climbing formwork or the challenge presented this year, which sought the most efficient, safe and optimal technical application solution in terms of the number and budget of materials used for the execution of a residential building project.

The case study proposed the use of ULMA's  ENKOFLEX timber beam slab formwork and  CC-4 aluminium modular formwork to solve the construction of a three-storey concrete structure.

The works analysed and evaluated by Iñigo Puente, Professor of Construction Engineering at TECNUN-University of Navarra, and Iñaki Etxagibel, Director of Application at ULMA Construction, have demonstrated a high degree of ingenuity and academic quality. Next year, TECNUN-School of Engineering and ULMA will collaborate once again to propose a new practical case to the students of the Industrialisation of Construction course of the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering. It will undoubtedly be a new opportunity to strengthen and create this necessary and beneficial connection for both groups.
