With a length of 1350 m, the bridge over the River Wisłoka is now the longest structure on the A-4 Kryz-Debica motorway in Poland. The 3-section dual carriageway has one straight stretch and another with a constant curve.

Two different construction systems were required due to the layout and land type: the traditional system, with T-60 continuous shoring and OC shoring, and the main system, using the incremental launching method. This is the first time a deck bridge with two inner arches in its transverse section has been built in Poland. The solution allowed sections of 30 m to be constructed in a week, with no shoring required between piles.

The building and launching work was highly precise and stood out for its ease of construction with no problems arising and was completed within the time schedule.

This method enabled an extremely simple procedure to be developed, requiring no major auxiliary resources and with a minimal environmental impact.

ULMA designed and supplied the formwork for the structure in general and for the footing, pillars and abutments, in addition to the four fixed sites for manufacturing the incrementally launched bridge sections.

The MK System provided the solution for the deck base formwork and the shoring for the weather protection cover. MK caters to this type of application and many others using standard material.

As well as building this bridge, ULMA has also supplied material for a further 13 civil engineering structures for the A-4 motorway.
