ULMA Architectural Solutions has installed its ventilated façade solution in the avant-garde tower with 124 housing units, 26 floors and 100 metres in height located in the most modern area of Diagonal. This spectacular skyscraper is located at the corner of Avenida Diagonal with Pere IV and is the ninth tallest building in the city. The project has been carried out by Moliner Office Architects, an architecture studio based in Barcelona and headed by Jordi Moliner.

ULMA Ventilated Façade: sustainability and optimal quality

The project has been developed with the philosophy of creating sustainable housing units, with optimal quality and competitive costs. It is covered with ULMA’s polymer concrete Ventilated Façade, an energy-efficient system that generates savings in the building’s energy consumption, protection against atmospheric agents and durability, all in line with the trends that mark the skyscrapers of the most innovative cities in the world. The earth texture and the porphyry colour of the VANGUARD line were used in panels of 900 mm x 500 mm.

Record execution time: 6 months

“The project rescues an unfinished concrete structure and transforms the building through an extension in height and a formal and material redesign of its enclosure. The unifying criterion of the building solutions adopted recomposes the randomness of certain openings or structural elements of the building.” Moliner Office Architects.

It consists of a building of enormous dimensions and a great complexity in its execution, since due to its tight execution deadlines, the project required the assembly of the façade while the 6 new floors of the building were finished.
